Because we are constantly exposed to new material our resources for “All Things Business” change.

There of course is your tried and tested that will probably be in our arsenal for years to come.Mr. Smart Guy as plumber

Our aim is for this page to be your ONE STOP SHOP for all things you’ll need for growing your Online or Offline Business.

We will reference this page in our future posts so I encourage you to bookmark it and when you are need of something you’ll be able to see our recommendations, reviews, and if we are affiliates you will sometimes qualify for bonuses.

Although affiliate marketing is not what “MyNoteTakingNerd’s” business model is we thought why the heck shouldn’t we make a buck or two if your going to buy it anyway.

We believe we bring a lot of value to you our Nerd Fans and Readers. Therefor we wont apologize for making a commission if you happen to buy something that we recommend.

So If you do happen to click on an affiliate link then know you might be buying one of the nerd’s a beer or a Baby Nerd a toy.

We thank you for that.

Anything we do recommend is something we’ve personally tried and have experience with.

We will never sell out for any amount of money. (Alright there might be a price …LOL)

REMEMBER: Below is a list of FREE and Premium services. We will always try to  list a FREE option along with anything that cost money. Our mission is to help you and we will dig far to try and find FREE viable solutions to your problems.

Blogging

WordPress.org – This platform is FREE and it Rocks! We started this very blog over there and still to this day it’s our sister site at www.mynotetakingnerd.wodpress.com. Nothing should be stopping you from getting that site up.

The Thesis Theme for WordPress – This is the Platform we use here at MyNoteTakingNerd. I personally think it’s the best infrastructure for hosting your blog. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been stuck with coding or a challenge and the Forum over there at DIYThemes which is the parent company has immediately had a solution. The cost of the Forum is worth ten times more then the cost of the Theme alone. Not to mention the Point and Click functionality and probably the best out of box SEO in the business.

Google! – Yep…I know this sound stupid but I’ve learned more by “googling” about how to do something for my blog then any other resource. Often, I’ll be on hold with tech support and find the answer before they do. Here is a Quick Tip; When searching for tech answers make sure to click on the “More Options” on the left panel and click searches on for the last year otherwise you will end up spending lots of time with outdated answers.

Feedburner by Google – This will allow you to keep track of how many people are subscribing to your Blog via RSS.

Hosting

Host Gator: I have nothing but good things to say about these guys. They’ve bailed me out countless times. The customer service is spot on. Just last week I was on technical support with them for 15 hours. They even helped with stuff that didn’t relate to them. There is “Live” chat both on the phone and online. Although I might outgrow these guys very soon I’d recommend you give them a shot if your looking for a host. (*I’ll let you know who we end up going to for a private server)

Blue Host: I’m only putting these guys here because of the power of Testimonials. I’ve got countless friends online that rave about these guys and I’m not talking about small timers. Some heavy hitters online that have been with them for years. So here is an alternative you can check out.

Productivity (Getting Sh** Done!)

Base Camp by 37Signals – First off if you not following this company then I’d recommend you do so. They rock. This is probably the easiest to use PROJECT MANAGEMENT software out there. If you need to “Just manage a project” and are not concerned about fancy gadgets and/or gant charts etc… then this is for you. They do charge a small fee per month and I’m not an affiliate just a fan. (Note: I’m currently using the resource I speak of next but still recommend basecamp as a “Top Dog” for project management.

ActiveCollab Project Management – This is the software I’m currently using. I really like it but I’ll be truthful. It is self hosted by YOU and it’s a bit pesty to install. If you end up using it shoot me an email and I’ll email you a tutorial for how to install and basic usage instructions.

FREE Online Project Management – I have not personally used any of the FREE stuff out there but I can tell you there is a bunch. Google has one and there are a ton more. I’d suggest some of them are as good as the Paid stuff. It might take some work by googling reviews but you can find something if you just take a bit of review time. Let us know if you find anything that is Kick Ass!

ToDo.ly – FREE and AWESOME…If your looking to manage a small project or your daily “To Do’s” then check out this robust little guy. It’s got smartphone apps that work with it so you can use on the go and it’s extremely easy to use.

e.ggtimer – If your familiar with the Pomodoro Technique or Eben Pagan’s Wake Up Productive Program then you know about working in short uninterrupted spurts. This online timer works perfect for the “countdown”…

TweetDeck – We live in this New Social World and everyday there is a new tool that comes out for how to manage all this information. I’ve yet to find a better tool for managing the Big Social Networking like Twitter, Facebook, etc.. then this. Get it…Use it! Oh it’s FREE
